whoooopppssss.....Bead Soup Blog Party 3 rd reveal......

I am very late to published my works.... this Saturday is a very-very busy day. I have to complete furniture purchasing for my office today so that on Monday everyone can work with new furniture. I just got home very tired but remember that I haven't upload my works..... so stop feeling miserable and start to work....

Today is the 3rd reveal day....whewwww.... lucky me I have finished my work days ago. Actually, I planned to change the necklace, but as I think more I decided to stick to my 1st attempt. To remind you on the bead soup sending by Elizabeth Jones, these are they...... very cute......

And these are the end results:

I used the clasp and the focal in different places. I put the clasp in the 1st bracelet, while the focal I put it in the necklace. The 2nd bracelet is for all the other beads left. I use viking knit as accent in the necklace and make it as simple as possible to give more focus to the focal. For the color, I choose the earthy colors.... brown, yellow and green.....

Hopefully Elizabeth likes what I did to the bead soup ingredients she sent......

7th Bead Soup Blog Party - First Reveal

Yesterday (Indonesia time) was the first reveal of the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party arranged by Lori Anderson. I did some touring and they are all made beautiful jewelry. Some are surprisingly creative and thinking out of the box, out of their comfortable zone by creating different style than what they usually made. Many are stick to their style or at least put their thew in their creation.

And because all are beautiful, it is difficult for me just to make a short visit. When I am interested to the bead soup result, then I always spend more time to see the rest of the blog and i really enjoy the tour.

If you like to visit all blogs, just go to Lori's blog here and you can see a new different, peaceful and beautiful world......

And for mine.... wait to 13 April 2013 where the 3rd group will reveal.............. see you then....... Now let's start the touring again................

Breakfast with Motemanika Beads

I liked to spend this weekend with Motemanika Beads. Remember my bead swap partner from the 1st Indonesian Bead Swap? She had already made some jewelries from the beads I sent to her, but I hadn't got a single thing.... So I thought I should sat and looked at the beads closely again (I did it several times before and came to nothing) to have an idea.....

So I started very early, while I had my breakfast I opened my "Motemanika" special box and I didn't know whether this was because of the hot chocolate or something else.... but I got an idea when I saw the maroon bead soup.....

My breakfast

Maroon Beauty

I stringed the bead soup with crocheted wire while the pendant was tied with coiled wire. So.....that's this weekend breakfast.... maybe next I can do lunch or dinner for other beads.

1st Tantang Dirimoe - King of the Jungle

I participated in this challenge, 1st Tantang Dirimoe, which started in early February 2013. The challenge was to make something, jewelry or other type of art or craft which should be inspired from the painting "In Letzter Not" by Raden Saleh. You can read all the details from this link. The link is also provide you with the end results from each participant. My opinion on the end results is just one word..... Amazing...... Amazing to see how one painting can be translated into many different form - as many as the participants, which is different one from another and...... amazing to see that there are so much talents involving in the process of creating. I can see that all participants has given their best to translate the painting into one or more pieces of creation. My eyes have difficulty to choose because all are beautiful.

Now about my end result. I made this choker from copper wire, druzy stone and faux pearls...... the choker and the focal point are crocheted wire. The focal point is also can be use separately as a brooch because I put a pin for attaching the brooch to the choker.

King of the Jungle

King of the Jungle

The clasp

When I saw the painting for the first time, I was attracted to the man and the horse.... I could see the surprised face of the man and the afraid gesture of the horse.... I liked to translate them into something, I even had bought some beautiful horse charms.  Because I was not an art person, I had to find a way to be able to absorb all the elements of the painting.... so I put the painting in my laptop and make it as a background of the desktop, so that I could see it every time I was using the laptop.....

And eventually what I then saw was the lion, so strong and powerful.... with its golden mane..... flying to attack the horse......the King of the Jungle..... and that's what I made....

For me being a winner is not that important, but the most important thing that I really appreciated from this challenge is that it gave me a valuable lesson on how to look for an inspiration and how to translate and process the inspiration to become something handmade by me.

My weekend projects

Early in the morning some ideas on hijab pins suddenly popped out of my head....... so as usual I grab my tools and my beads..... and these they are........

Love them........

Let's see what tomorrow will bring.........

And these are my late Sunday's  projects. I still have several projects to finish..... but they have to wait till the next weekend....... and also my bead soup, bead swap, and 1st challenge projects..... which are still in the design phase....
